Bring on 2012!

Well 2011 was a pretty good year except for the last 5-6 weeks... But I guess everything can't be perfect. This year I am really dedicating myself to actually finish projects (mame, little projects around the house, etc), work with Wyatt more on things (school, riding his bike, playing sports, etc), and of course health and fitness.

Over the last few years I have really done well loosing weight and keeping it off, but of course I haven't documented or tracked any of it. I am starting a separate blog more for myself than anything to document my workouts, track my diet, anything else related.

So here is the the new years resolution list:

  • Start personal health and fitness blog
  • Spend more time with Wyatt
  • Sell the lincoln (yes that's right!)
  • Fix/sell arcade cabinets and start MAME cabinets
  • Get my retirement back on track (set goals and strategies)
  • Complete some house projects (backsplash, mantle, patio room, front yard)
  • Complete a major hike (Whitney?)
  • Organize and gather stuff (birthdays, addresses, photos)

Well there it is... I have set the bar high let's see what I get done!

What's new Mr. Magoo...

Well let see if I can get this blog back on track...

Well a lot has happened since I last posted
  • I have started to play rugby, and I have to say I love it so far. Still got a lot to learn
  • Wyatt has officially started soccer... Go Blue Rockstars!
  • Jordan is a Senior at PHS and looks to be starting on the D line and special teams
  • Painting the fascia of the house has turned into a lesson on roofing replacement and repairs
  • I have eaten everything put in front of me... Scales are starting to turn against me :-(
  • I am officially going to be old in a week...
  • And the return of FOOTBALL!!!
Guess after my birthday it will be back to diet P90x and a cranky ass Derrick. Nothing like carrot sticks and grilled chicken to enjoy football... Hopefully I can keep this blog going on a regular basis!

Oh how I missed you carbs...

Well phase 1 of P90x in the books... It was tough, miserable, and it works! Lost about 17lbs, gained some muscle and feel like I am almost in shape. On to phase 2, with some speed bumps (bachelor party and CA world), but hope to stick to the diet as much as possible, and the best part is I can finally eat carbs!

Blog Abuse...

Well I managed to do it again... Completely ignore my blog and leave all my adoring fans (2) in the dark of my exciting adventures!

Well 2010 has been an interesting year so far... Work has been busy as ever, and the amount of changes around me is like a tornado. Wyatt is growing up faster than I could ever imagine and is about to turn 3! We are in the final stretch for Chris's wedding so tuxedos and bachelor party planning are in full effect. Jordan is now 16 and behind the wheel and scaring the living daylights out everyone around him. Finally I am in the 2nd week of P90x, which means hungry, sore and tired + I am back in the swing of playing soccer. Its nice getting back out with the friday crew, but it missing something like a Tasmanian Devil forward or tattoo roller derby defender hip checking people into next week... Miss you guys!

Any hoo I will be posting on the regular again so look for those updates!

1st post of the new year...

Thank god for the new year... Last year was pretty brutal major shoulder, back, and ankle injuries combined with things going very south at work. You don't realize how good you have it until you loose a good boss! But I can't completely complain, have a happy healthy family, still got a job, and my body is starting to heal. So I guess I have it better than at least 50% of the population...

As for this year I really trying to make some moves and enter the big boy stage of my career and life. This includes no more shorts and tshirts at work(this is going to be hard), getting a mentor, not making excuses and just getting things done.

Things to start the year off:

- Roth IRA
- College investment fund
- Resume and possibly a new job!

If everything goes well hopefully maybe another kid? Stay tuned...
